1.    MARK ALLEN

Is the six-time Ironman Triathlon World Champion. After competing and losing in theIronman Triathlon Championships six times, Mark Allen emerged victorious in 1989, winning one of the most difficult one-day sporting events in the world.

It would be the first of six Ironman victories for Allen, the last coming in 1995 at age 37, making him the oldest champion ever.

He has also excelled at the Olympic distance, winning the sport’s inaugural World Championships in 1989 in Avignon, France, by more than a minute. He went undefeated in 10 trips to the Nice International Championships, and from 1988-1990 he put together a winning streak of 20 races.

Over the course of his racing career, which ended in 1996, he maintained a 90% average in top-three finishes. He was named Triathlete of the Year six times by Triathlete magazine, and in 1997 outside magazine tabbed him The World’s Fittest Man.

2.    LUC VAN LIERDE

Triathlon is no exception, and Luc Van Lierde is a big champion, the fastest Ironman in the world.

His reputation as one of the best in the discipline was established in 1996. He won the European Championships and came second in the World Championships in the Olympic Distance Triathlon, won the Nice Triathlon and became World Long Course Triathlon Champion. But above all, he won his most glorious title in Hawaii.

Luc Van Lierde became the first European ever to win the Ironman World Championship, the most prestigious Triathlon event in the world, beating the existing record by three minutes. Went on to clock the fastest Ironman Triathlon ever in 1997, doing 7:50:27 (0:44, 4:28, 2:36, plus transition) in Ironman Europe.

When Luc Van Lierde completed Ironman Europe he clocked a world record that still stands: 7:50:27. His 2.4m swim was 44:51, the 112m bike was 4:28:47, and 26.2m run was 2:36:49. While a 4:30 bike has been attained quite a few times since, the combination of a devastating 45 minute swim plus a 2:36 run is fast.

In 1999 he once again won the Ironman World Championship in Hawaii, outrunning the second placed competitor by six minutes. During that same year, he received the Giant of Flanders trophy awarded by the two Flanders section of the Association of Professional Journalists.

His Major Achievements in 1995 Silver medal at the World Championships, 1996 European Champion, Silver medal at the world Championships in the quarter triathlon, Silver medal at the World Championships, Winner Ironman World Championships, 1997 World record for Ironman event (7:50:27), 1999 Winner Ironmam World Championship.

3.    THOMAS HELLRIEGEL

German Ironman triathlete. His biggest achievement so far is winning the World Champion Title in 1997 Ironman World Championship.

During the last few years he developed his nickname “Hell on Wheels”. Among others he holds the bike course record of the IRONMAN Hawaii since 1996 with 4 hours 24 minutes 50 seconds f?r 180.2 km. This equals an average speed of almost 41 km/h (25,5 mph).

In his career Thomas has won other IRONMAN contests as well. Like in New Zealand, in Lanzarote and in Lake Placid/USA. He loves high temperatures and humidity in the air which allows him an advantage on his fellow competitors. While feeling well in the heat at the Opel IRONMAN GERMANY Triathlon 2003 with a 5th place he disliked the cold temperature in 2004.On the final run he couldn’t keep 3rd position letting 4 competitors pass him until finish line on the R?merberg in a world-class field. With a break over the winter Thomas took a deep breath to go as hard as he can when returning to Frankfurt.

4.    NORMANN STADLER

He is also known as “The Nominator”.

Is a professional triathlete from Germany. He is the winner of the 2004 and 2006 Ironman Triathlon World Championship in Hawaii.

Normann Stadler was a member of the Tri Dubai triathlon team until Tri Dubai was disbanded at the end of the 2006 triathlon season.

Although he was expected to do well in the 2005 Ironman, he withdrew from the race after suffering multiple tire punctures. Frustration regarding the second flat of the day and a bleeding bee sting on the thigh prompted him to throw his bike off the road.

In 2006, Normann returned to Kona to compete in the Ironman World Championships. Normann swam fast enough to exit the water only moments behind the race leaders. Once on the bike course, Normann managed to gain over 10 minutes on the chase pack, setting a bike course record at 4:18:23 (26 mph). Australian Chris McCormack came within 71 seconds of Normann but was unable to get any closer. Stadler received $110,000 for his win.

When racing in the 2007 World Championship, Stadler was forced to withdraw due to illness before the midpoint of the bike ride and was unable to defend the title.

Normann Major Achievements in 2004 & 2006 Two-time Ironman World Champion, 2006 Bike course record, 2008 1st Place Moenchshof Triathlon, German Championships Middle Distance, Kulmbach, 2005 1st Place Ironman Germany, Frankfurt and 2001 1st Place Ironman Australia

Scott also referred to as “The Man”. During the awards ceremony for a Hawaii running race, a debate ensues among competitors about who is more fit — swimmers, runners or other athletes. One of the participants, Navy Commander John Collins and his wife Judy, dream up a race to settle the argument. They propose combining three existing races together, to be completed in succession: the Waikiki Rough water Swim (2.4 miles), the Around-Oahu Bike Race (112 miles, originally a two-day event) and the Honolulu Marathon (26.2 miles). “Whoever finishes first we’ll call the Ironman,” said Collins. Fifteen men participate in the initial event held on February 18; 12 complete the race, led by the first Ironman, Gordon Haller. His winning time: 11 hours, 46 minutes and 58 seconds.

Today, Dave Scott is still actively competing in triathlons. He also works as a triathlon coach, fitness consultant, motivational speaker, commentator, and corporate consultant.

Do a fitness regime to improve your swing

Do A Fitness Regime To Improve Your Swing

Golf and fitness are words that were hardly ever used in the same statement up until a few years back. This is because golf was considered an easy going sport that was played mainly by the dyeing population as a means of passing their spare time after retirement. Recently however the approach to professional golf has changed and it has now been taken over by a fitness regime that requires you to be in the best of shapes in order to be a professional in the game.

This has largely been caused due to the influence of the media which has greatly popularized the sport. With all the tournaments being televised all around the world the players of the professional circle have been forced to raise up the standard of their game. Moreover there is so much at stake, if you are good at the game; you get world recognition and lots of prize money. So getting fit for golf is something that the professionals of today lay great stress on.

You will find many professional golf players to have a personal fitness trainer with them throughout their tournaments. The trainer’s job is to make sure the golfer does all the exercises that are part of his routine and in fact the trainer now plays just as important a role as the coach of the sport. When a professional golf player hires a fitness trainer he runs a thorough physical examination of the golfer. The results of these tests give the trainer all the required data to construct a fitness regime for the golfer. The training systems often vary from individual to individual and are relative to the physical fitness and requirements of the individual.

The main aim of these exercises is to increase the body’s strength which enables the golfer to apply more power in his drive. As a result the golfer is able to drive the ball over long distances with increased precision and accuracy. Moreover the exercises serve as a way to build up the strength and endurance of those muscles that are peculiar to the sport of golf. With these muscles perfectly toned you reduce the risk of injury and the body becomes well apt to take the stress that is placed on it during the course of the game.

This new development in the sport has resulted in all the major golf schools to incorporate a physical training regime into their training programs. Moreover the schools have now developed all the facilities with all the essential equipment that is necessary for physical training. Along with these facilities golf schools have also hired trained professionals who have specialized in providing golf fitness training.

Hence if you are considering joining golf schools make sure that it is one of those schools that have adequate fitness facilities and special trainers at hand. With the coordinated effort of your physical trainer and the golf instructor you will be able to lift up your game to a whole new standard.

How personal trainers can retire early

How personal trainers can retire early?

As a certified personal trainer through National Academy of Sports Medicine, I have studied Team Beachbody extensively.  With over 15 years of experience in the health and fitness field, I was looking for a way to increase my income potential as a personal trainer without working longer hours.  I wanted a system that would run in conjunction with my current personal trainer business and work for me 24/7.  As a personal trainer, I have as ways believed in the “Work Smarter not Harder” approach.

How many people can, you, as personal trainer conducting one-hour sessions, train in one day? Let’s just say you can effectively train eight to twelve clients a day, 6 days a week.  However, how many hours do you really want to work?  What happens if your get sick or injured for any length of time?  What about a retirement plan?  What happens if you take a vacation?  You pay both the cost of the vacation plus the cost of lost income from not being able to work your business.  What if you could plug-in a proven opportunity that could uniquely help you solves any or all of these problems?  Furthermore, what if at the same time, this opportunity provided you with an additional income stream? “Sounds pretty good,” You say, “but how?”

The solution to all of these problems and more is Team Beachbody; become a Team Beachbody coach today!  Team Beachbody is a proven system that provides you with the opportunity to generate a second income stream and takes your personal training knowledge nationwide.  Team Beachbody products have been around for over 11 years.  It began as a nationally televised infomercial company.  Team Beachbody spends over 90 million dollars a year producing top selling fitness videos such as P90X, Hip Hop Abs, Slim in 6, The Ten Minute Trainer, Revabs, Insanity and Chalean Extreme just to name a few.  As a Team Beachbody coach, you are afforded the opportunity to do something that you are passionate about while inspiring others to achieve their fitness goals and enjoy a healthy, fulfilling life.

Much like you, I went into the personal training business because I loved the subject matter and wanted to learn as much as I could. Additionally, I was thrilled about utilizing my passion to help others improve the way they looked and felt about themselves.  As a Team Beachbody coach and a personal trainer, I have a wide variety of health and fitness solutions that are both efficient and effective in helping my clients achieve their goals.

As a personal trainer, you help your clients take control of their health and fitness, as well as achieve amazing body transformations, by providing direction, support and accountability.  The same can be said about Team Beachbody coaches.  Team beachbody coaches, like a personal trainer, provide motivation, peer support, advice and tools to help members reach their goals faster.  As a personal trainer you have a big advantage over other Team Beachbody coaches who are not certified trainers.  As a personal trainer you are more knowledgeable about the health and fitness field and have years of experience answering your clients concerns. This is what will set you above the rest, and will translate into your Beachbody clientele.

In brief, Team Beachbody is a great way for a personal trainer to increase work productivity (fewer hours and less clients), accumulate a nest egg, plan for retirement, generate a second income, and much, much more.  Join Team Beachbody and stop forgoing your vacation plans, worrying about canceled appointments, and the downward economy.

The diversity of a personal trainer’s work environment

The Diversity of a Personal Trainer's Work Environment

One of the great aspects of being a personal trainer is the variety in not only the people you get to work with, but also the settings you get to work within. Personal trainers are no longer just restricted to a gym setting. There is actually a wide variety of locations/settings trainers can work in these days. Generally personal trainers have the following as options for work location:

– Private Health Clubs

– Commercial Health Clubs

– Medically-Based Fitness Facilities

– Community Wellness Centers

– Personal Training Studios

– Physical Therapy Clinics

– Retirement/Senior Centers

– YMCAs/JCCs

– College/University Centers

– Recreational Settings

– Corporate Fitness Centers

– In-Home Training

Each of the above provides a trainer with various perks and benefits. As example, with Commercial Health Clubs you will probably be able to make a decent yearly salary as Commercial Health Clubs (especially franchises like Bally’s) market heavily. This is a plus for you as it helps to bring in a regular amount of potential clients. However the downside is you may feel at times like the company is more about the bottom dollar as opposed to the client and/or trainer.

Another example is Non-Profits such as YMCAs (Young Men’s Christian Association) and JCCs (Jewish Community Centers), which tend to be the opposite. You may find the pay is not comparable to Commercial Health Clubs, but they at times provide better benefits. In addition, the camaraderie is far more evident with non-profits. For some, working in the community for a real cause can be more fulfilling than receiving a big paycheck.

Another option for personal trainers that is somewhat of a balance between commercial health clubs and non-profits is In-Home Training. In home training is great as it provides complete job flexibility (as those who train in-home tend to be their own bosses), the money you collect per session is one hundred percent yours (as opposed to working for a facility and they take 40-60% of the session fee), and you can provide a great service that many people would love to participate in (as many do not go to fitness facilities due to feeling uncomfortable, lack of time, etc).

Overall personal training as a profession has a lot of perks. People can do it full time and make a great living. It is also flexible for those who need it. An example of this would be stay at home parents. By being a trainer, a stay at home mom/dad would be able to earn a small income on the side while still being able to take care of their children (if the gym they are employed at has day care). Finally it provides variety. You will be able to work in the setting of your choice with the type people you want to train. In the end, personal training is a great profession to get into. You will more than likely find exactly what you want and will as a result wake up everyday looking forward to work.
